How to take notes

Taking notes is not just about writing down anything & everything. It's an art. A real game-changer once mastered.

Making Notes

  1. Always right in my own words when taking notes.
  2. Make notes for individual ideas, concepts, points. Don’t try to wrap up an entire domain, phase, book into single note. Break each part of that domain, phase, book into smaller chunks that can have notes written explain/noting different things.
  3. Writing notes as if its for someone else. This means to give some form of context. Use full sentences and words. So later on when you refer back to it, you have everything you need to understand the note.
  4. Note should have sources - where did it come from. What it relates to. However dont do deep-dives into that, at the same time. Come back to it, if you need to go deeper you have the links, material to do so.
